11 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2014	UN-ESCWA to Commemorate International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People	On the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People (29 November), the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN-ESCWA) is holding a meeting at 10 am on Wednesday, 29 November 2006 at the UN House, Riad El-Solh Square, Beirut. UN-ESCWA Executive Secretary Mervat Tallawy and Mr. Peter Hansen, former High Commissioner of UNRWA, will address the meeting. Ms. Tallawy will be delivering the statement of the United Nations Secretary-General, Mr. Kofi Anan, as well as remarks by UN-ESCWA.

11 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2014	Oil producers on a Roll as Prices Surge Lebanese-Israeli Conflict Undermined Growth Prospects, UN Report says	Western Asian countries maintained their fourth consecutive year of robust growth as a result of rising oil prices in the first half of 2006. But the surge in oil export revenues will temper in 2007, and growth in the ESCWA region (excluding Egypt) will likely moderate from 5.8 percent in 2006 to 4.9 percent in 2007, according to a new UN report.
