11 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2014	Cairo to Host UN-ESCWA Preparatory Meeting	The Egyptian capital, Cairo, is to host a preparatory meeting for UN-ESCWA (UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia), on the “Establishment of a Technical Cooperation Knowledge Sharing Network”, organized by the Commission’s Programme Planning and Technical Cooperation Division (PPTCD), between 28 and 30 October at Hilton Ramses Hotel, Cairo. The meeting will be attended by focal points concerned with technical cooperation programs in member countries, as well as UN-ESCWA PPTCD experts and employees.
11 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2014	Executive Secretary Stresses Importance	UN-ESCWA Executive Secretary, Mr. Bader Aldafa stressed today the importance of promoting cooperation among developing countries, as well as the role that public-private partnership could play on this level. Aldafa laid these comments out in the presentation entitled “South-South Cooperation and Public-Private Partnership for Development”, which he made before the Second Committee of the UN General Assembly in New York (Economic and Financial).
11 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2014	Amman Hosts UN-ESCWA Workshop on Data Compilation and Application of Methodological Concepts	– In collaboration with the UN Statistics Department, (UNSD), UN-ESCWA (Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia) is organizing a workshop on “Data Compilation and Application of Methodological Concepts”, at the Radisson SAS Hotel, Amman, Jordan between 28 October and 2 November 2007. The workshop, which will open on Sunday 28 October at 09:00 am, is geared towards updating the capabilities of officers in the implementation of the concepts and definitions in collecting, processing and disseminating international merchandize trade statistics.

11 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2014	Cairo to host UN-ESCWA Meeting on Harnessing Technology for Enhanced Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Productivity and Competitiveness	UN-ESCWA (The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia), in partnership with the Arab Science and Technology Foundation (ASTF), holds an expert group meeting on “Harnessing Technology for Enhanced Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Productivity and Competitiveness” on 3 and 4 November 2007 at the JW Marriott Hotel in Mirage City in Cairo, Egypt. The expert group meeting will be held concurrently and complementarily with the ASTF “Made in the Arab World” Competition finals, scheduled to open at 9:00 AM on Saturday 3 November.

11 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2014	Amman Hosts Regional Forum	UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia, (UN-ESCWA), Mr. Bader Al Dafa, arrives in Amman tomorrow, Tuesday, to open the inter-regional forum on “Trade Facilitation and Regional Trade Agreements” held on 14-15 November 2007 in Kempinski Hotel in Amman, Jordan. During his visit, Al Dafa is to meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Abdelelah Al-Khatib, the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Mrs. Suhair Al-Ali, and the Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Salem Khazaaleh.

11 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2014	On The International Day of Solidarity with The Palestinian People	United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, said that this year’s observance of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People “comes at a time when Palestinians continue to suffer the indignities and violence of occupation and conflict, but also at a time when a new beginning has been made in efforts to achieve a two State solution to the conflict.” Ban’s words came in the message he addressed on the International Day for Solidarity with the Palestinian People, observed on 29 November of each year, in the wake of the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 32/40 B.
