The report reviews the devastating repercussions of the Israeli occupation on Palestinian women in the period 2000-2006. It presents demographic information on the West Bank and Gaza Strip, including size, age and distribution of the population, and rates of fertility and mortality, and of marriage and divorce. It examines indicators on political participation, labour and the economy, poverty, education, legal and human rights, and health, analysing gender gaps. The report finally describes the living conditions in the occupied Palestinian territory in that period, highlighting the Israeli measures that impose collective punishment on the civilian population and their impact on women.
