Quarterly Inflation Monitor

Monitoring the movement of consumer prices is vital to understanding the various economic changes that affect the supply and demand of goods and services in household consumption baskets.

ESCWA is compiling data on a quarterly basis to track fluctuations in the Consumer Price Index for the Classification of Individual Consumption According to Purpose (COICOP) expenditure groups. The inflation rates are then displayed on an interactive dashboard to track inflation on a yearly and quarterly basis for comparison between Arab countries and over time.

This interactive dashboard for inflation in the Arab region contains quarterly and yearly inflation data by expenditure group from 2012, and is updated quarterly. Stakeholders are national statistical offices, researchers and data users
