Gully

A channel created by hydraulic erosion through which water commonly flows only during and immediately after heavy rains. Two kinds of gullies stand out: Classical gullies : The classical gullies are an advanced stage of channel erosion. They disfigure landscape and make land unfit for growing crops. Ephemeral gullies : The ephemeral gullies can be ploughed in and tilled across depending upon their depth and width. There are transitory rather than permanent like classical gullies.
