Safe yield of groundwater
Definition:
Rate of surface-water diversion or groundwater extraction from a basin for consumptive use over an indefinite period of time that can be maintained without producing negative effects.; The annual extraction from a groundwater unit which will not, or does not, produce a negative effect.; The attainment and maintenance of a long-term balance between the amount of ground water withdrawn annually and the annual amount of recharge.
