Transitional justice/transitional justice mechanisms
Definition:
Efforts to address a legacy of large-scale human rights abuses that cannot be fully addressed by existing judicial and nonjudicial structures. Government responses have included criminal prosecutions, truth commissions, reparations, gender justice, security system reform, memorialization, and other reconciliation efforts.
