The sectoral statistics team participated at the UN-ECE Ad Hoc Group Meeting on Supply of Fossil Fuels, Geneva, 10-11 November 2004, organized by the Sustainable Energy Section of the Industrial Restructuring, Energy and Enterprise Development Division at ECE. The participation was a follow-up on the recommendations on UNFC Classification of energy reserves/resources that was held in Beirut in collaboration with OPEC, UNSD and ECE in Beirut, 1 June 2004. The team provided a presentation on "Developing Reliable Energy Statistics in the ESCWA Region", mainly focusing on data on oil and gas reserves in the ESCWA region for the last five years and the ESCWA activities to build capacity of member countries in energy statistics.
