To strengthen the capacity of national statistical offices and data systems so as to ensure access to high-quality, timely, reliable, and disaggregated data, ESCWA, in partnership with the Arab Development Portal (ADP), the Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics (AITRS), and the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), held the eighth regional workshop on the use of Statistical Data and Metadata Exchange (SDMX) for reporting on SDGs.
The workshop, held in Amman from 1 to 4 December, combined presentations, live demonstrations, and hands-on exercises, enabling participants to gain practical experience in exchanging national data, while raising their awareness on the latest developments in data exchange, and promoting the implementation of SDMX at the national level.
The workshop brought together 22 statisticians who are experts in the SDGs and SDMX as well as IT experts from 12 Arab national statistical offices, in addition to GCC STAT and the UNDP Jordan office.
