ESCWA seeks to build strategic relationships with donors to mobilize voluntary contributions to support and complement its regular programme of work. These contributions enable ESCWA to respond to emerging needs in the region, pilot the implementation of findings and policy recommendations arising from its research, and expand technical cooperation and advisory services to its member States.
ESCWA has identified five priority strategic impact areas where it is seeking to mobilize voluntary funding:
- conflict and development;
- women, peace and security and violence against women;
- multimodal transport;
- fiscal constraints; and
- climate change, water scarcity and food security.
