ESCWA is holding the second round of the Socioeconomic dialogue on the Vision for Recovery and Development in Yemen. The discussions build on the outcomes of the first round of the Dialogue (28-29 November 2022 -Amman) that identified the guiding principles for recovery. The current meeting discusses the priorities, policy recommendations and implementation strategies that will feed into the vision, in addition to the indicators that measure the achievement of the recovery goals.
The main objectives of this round is to:
- Examine the impact of the war on selected sectors, the most important challenges facing development and the risks of relapse into conflict
- Build on the sectoral goals that were identified in the previous round and set comprehensive goals for recovery
- Define the priorities for achieving the recovery goals.
