Arab Mayors Academy Photo Gallery - 2026
The Arab Mayors Academy (AMA) is a flagship regional initiative jointly implemented by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA). It brings together a cohort of governors, mayors, deputy governors, and senior local leaders from across the Arab region to further strengthen their capacities in addressing urban development challenges.
Following the success of its first two editions, the third edition of the AMA was launched on 1–2 September 2026 and hosted by the Greater Amman Municipality. The Academy runs from September to December 2026 and concludes with a high-level Final Training Event followed by an official graduation ceremony of the cohort.
The Academy follows an inclusive design approach through which the curriculum is divided into the following components:
- Self-Paced (Asynchronous)
- Online (Synchronous)
- Face-to-Face
