The final training concludes the 2025 Arab Mayors Academy learning journey, supporting municipal leaders in advancing the New Urban Agenda and the 2030 Agenda through strengthened strategic planning, results-based management, and partnership-building. Organized by UNESCWA, UN-Habitat, and Hamad Ben Khalifa University, the event consolidates the Academy’s capacity-building efforts and reinforce evidence-based, inclusive, and future-ready urban leadership.
The training focuses on practical tools for developing integrated urban strategies, designing theories of change, establishing monitoring and evaluation systems, and applying smart governance and smart sustainable city approaches. Through expert-led discussions, case studies, and peer learning, participants explore how technology, data, community engagement, and intersectoral collaboration can improve municipal planning, service delivery, and long-term impact.
The event is followed by a dedicated graduation ceremony during the Arab Ministerial Forum for Housing and Urban Development.
