ESCWA, in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in Oman, is organizing a workshop and stakeholder consultations to review preliminary findings from a market study on the building materials sector.
The meeting brings together representatives of the Ministry, the Competition Protection and Monopoly Prevention Center, and other relevant Omani government entities, together with ESCWA experts, to review and validate the initial analysis. Discussions focus in particular on the institutional framework, the legal and regulatory framework, and the macroeconomic background of the sector, with a view to identifying gaps, refining the analysis, and guiding the next phase of the study.
The overall engagement aims to strengthen market efficiency, promote fair competition, support transparency, improve the business climate, and advance Oman economic diversification goals.
