The Committee on Energy participates in the development and formulation of ESCWA priorities in the field of energy, follows up on related activities, and monitors energy-related developments in ESCWA member States and the regional and global arenas.
The Committee is holding its fifteenth session to discuss the role of human capital in enabling just energy transitions, and the adoption and integration of electric vehicles in the transport sector across the Arab region. It also reviews progress in the implementation of the UN Decade of Sustainable Energy for All, and discusses regional priorities for 2026-2030.
As part of its proceedings, the Committee holds a joint meeting with the ESCWA Committee on Water Resources on “Means of implementation for advancing climate resilience in the Arab region”.
