ESCWA, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), is organizing a webinar on SDG indicator 12.3.1a, which is less reported in the Arab region, as part of the third wave of series of SDG webinars.
The main objective of this webinar is to support Arab States in responding to the “Questionnaire on Food Losses from Production to the Retail Stages”.
The workshop focuses on food losses measurement and reporting for countries in ESCWA member States. It represents an opportunity to raise awareness of indicator 12.3.1- Food Loss Index (FLI) and to train national reporting entities from the region on the components of the FLI, the data requirements for building it, how to compile it and how to monitor the indicator.
The trainings target participants from national statistics offices and the ministries of agriculture in the 22 Arab countries, ideally working in departments related to post-harvest loss reduction, value chain development, and food and agricultural statistics.
