The Committee reviews, during its 9th meeting, the progress achieved in implementing the resolutions adopted at the thirty-first session of ESCWA, held in Cairo in December 2023; the activities of ESCWA centres and the reports of its subsidiary bodies; and the technical cooperation activities 2023-2024.
Participants tackle prominent regional and international issues, including debt, water security, and worsening inequality in times of crisis. They explore ways to advance sustainable development in light of the findings of the Arab Sustainable Development Report 2024 and the Arab Forum for Sustainable Development 2024.
The Committee also addresses the Pact for the Future adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in September 2024, and ESCWA proposed programme plan for 2026.
