Amid fiscal constraints, competitiveness pressures, and rapid digital transformation in the region, ESCWA Index Simulators for Policymaking in the Arab Region (ISPAR) helps Arab governments translate complex international indices into actionable insights. This regional workshop “Dynamic simulators to address deficiencies in the ranking of international indices platforms in the Arab region” introduces the latest capabilities of ISPAR, alongside updates to the Financial Inclusiveness Index (FII). Participants, including representatives from ministries of economy and planning, explore a comprehensive decision-support suite featuring policy simulators, optimization tools, diagnostic reports, and correlation analysis. These resources equip governments to assess performance, simulate reforms, and design optimized policy packages tailored to national priorities.
Drawing on country-level applications, the agenda features Jordan’s customized diagnosis report and Oman’s national platform, exemplifying how ISPAR integrates with existing planning tools and adapts to distinct national contexts. The workshop demonstrates how bridging diagnostics and implementation empowers policymakers to set realistic targets, communicate trade-offs, and enhance strategic planning using transparent analytics connected to ESCWA data ecosystem.
