As part of a series of workshops to "modernize price data extraction with the Automatic Price Collection Tool", a national capacity-building workshop is being organized for the National Institute of Statistics in Tunis, Tunisia, with the goal of reinforcing institutional capabilities in automating and enhancing the process of price data collection.
The training introduces participants to the key components of the Automatic Price Collection Tool (APCT) and trains them on the fundamentals of Python programming, enabling them to design and customize APCT modules tailored to various retail environments. It also addresses modern digital data sources such as web scraping and scanner data, and includes practical exercises centred on Selenium automation.
The workshop concludes with a review of participants’ progress and technical outputs, confirming their readiness to deploy APCT as part of the national strategy of Tunisia for improving the timeliness, accuracy and efficiency of price statistics.
