ESCWA, in collaboration with the Government of Jordan, represented by the Higher Council for Food Security, and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), is supporting the implementation of the Tracking Financial Flows to Food Systems (3FS) methodology in Jordan. The methodology provides a harmonized framework for identifying and analysing public expenditure relevant to food systems across sectors, including agriculture, infrastructure, nutrition and health, social assistance, climate change and natural resources.
The first national consultation is bringing together relevant Jordanian institutions to introduce the 3FS methodology, discuss its application in the national context and establish the institutional and technical arrangements for its implementation. The consultation is expected to build a shared understanding of the methodology and agree on immediate next steps, including capacity-building, data collection and expenditure tagging.
The consultation brings together representatives of the Government of Jordan, ESCWA, IFAD and relevant national institutions involved in food systems, public finance and related sectors.
