Seventh meeting of the High-Level Joint Water-Agriculture Technical Committee

The League of Arab States, supported by ESCWA and Food and Agriculture Organization- Regional Office for Near East and North Africa, is organizing the Seventh Meeting of the High-Level Joint Water-Agriculture Technical Committee during the 2025 Cairo Water Week. 

The meeting aims to review progress on the recommendations from the previous session and to propose recommendations for following up on the implementation of:

• The priorities identified within the timetable for implementing the Cairo Declaration Action Plan
• The activities related to the use of non-conventional water resources for agriculture in the Arab region
• The pilot application of guidelines to improve the allocation of water resources for agriculture in a sustainable manner
• The directions regarding filling the data gap in the fields of water and agriculture by applying spatial information (remote sensing and geographic data)
• The fifth item related to enhancing the resilience of the agriculture and water sectors facing climate change. 

The meeting brings together senior officials, representatives from international and regional organizations, and experts.
