The seventeenth session of the Statistical Committee provides a platform for member States to follow up on progress in statistical activities undertaken by national statistical offices and the ESCWA secretariat since the previous session, which was held in Manama on 22 and 23 October 2024. Participants also discuss means to modernize statistical systems and enhance their resilience in times of crisis. Moreover, member State representatives share success stories on leveraging technology and artificial intelligence for statistical work, and on modernizing national accounts.
As part of its proceedings, the Committee holds a round-table discussion improving coordination of statistical capacity development activities.
