In preparation for COP28, ESCWA organized a dialogue on accelerating the transition to a circular economy to enhance climate resilience in the Arab region, in collaboration with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung/REMENA and with support from the Swedish Government.

The dialogue, held on 22 and 23 November in Amman, sought to analyze and outline the policies and plans for transitioning to a circular economy in the region. The primary objectives included identifying challenges and proposing viable solutions to both sustain and expedite the integration of circular practices across key sectors.

It also served as a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences among Arab countries, fostering collaboration and exploring strategies to ensure the sustained success of the transition within the region.
