As a continuation of its support to Lebanon’s official statistics, ESCWA, in collaboration with UNFPA and WorldPop, conducted a workshop to strengthen Lebanon’s population data system.
The workshop, hosted by the Central Administration of Statistics (CAS) from 27 to 30 October, brought together CAS staff, UN agencies, government ministries, and academic experts. It aimed to assess Lebanon’s available data sources, provide technical training to CAS and national stakeholders, and develop recommendations for improving population data collection and analysis.
The workshop concluded with a comprehensive technical report outlining key findings, priority support needs, and a roadmap for strengthening Lebanon’s national statistical system.
