Effective, accountable, and inclusive public governance is key to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with public administrations serving as the cornerstone of this process. They translate policies into concrete actions and have the capacity to lead transformative initiatives towards prosperous and sustainable societies.
On 16 June, ESCWA held a webinar on public administration in the Arab region, as part of ongoing efforts to follow up on the path of modernizing and developing public administration, which kicked off during the first Arab Forum on "Modernizing and Developing Public Administration in the Arab Region".
The webinar included a presentation and discussion of the technical paper titled “Modernizing public administrations for the SDGs in the Arab region”, aimed at exploring opportunities for reform and transformation. The interactive ISPAR platform was also presented as a data-driven tool to support reform decisions, tailored to national contexts.
