On 12 March, the Urban Water and Climate Resilience Community of Practice (CoP) under the “Resilient Water Solutions Against Climate Change in Jordan and Lebanon” (RWSCC) project, funded by the Adaptation Fund (AF) and implemented by UN-Habitat in partnership with ESCWA, held a virtual webinar on “Climate Finance for Cities: Project Preparation Facilities (PPFs)”.
Experts and city representatives discussed innovative approaches to enhancing climate resilience in urban water management and urban climate adaptation more broadly, with a particular focus on the role of PPFs in bridging the climate finance gap at the city level.
The webinar also highlighted climate challenges in urban contexts across the Arab region, such as water scarcity and displacement. Participants exchanged ideas on projects requiring climate finance, while experts provided valuable feedback and insights.
