From 17 to 20 November, ESCWA, in cooperation with the Gulf Cooperation Council Statistical Center (GCC-Stat) and the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre (FCSC) organized a national workshop on enhancing the production of disability statistics in the United Arab Emirates.
The workshop aimed to strengthen national capacities in producing, analysing, and disseminating high-quality disability statistics in line with international standards and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Participants discussed methodological frameworks, reviewed data sources, and explored ways to ensure the consistency and comparability of disability data across different sectors.
The workshop also provided an opportunity to share experiences and identify practical steps to support evidence-based policymaking and inclusive development planning.
