In preparation for the Arab Forum for Sustainable Development (AFSD), ESCWA and the League of Arab States (LAS) organized a regional consultative meeting on the environmental dimension of the 2030 Agenda, titled “Science-based and Inclusive Environmental Solutions for Advancing SDG Implementation”.
The meeting, held in Cairo on 25 and 26 February, explored innovative environmental solutions to combat poverty, improve health outcomes, achieve gender equality, stimulate sustainable economic growth, conserve marine ecosystems, and strengthen partnerships, building on regional and national initiatives and best practices.
Additionally, participants identified regional priority actions and means of implementation to accelerate progress on the SDGs under review.
