ESCWA Executive Secretary Rola Dashti called for cross-border energy corridors, digital innovation, and inclusive investment to drive a just and sustainable energy transition, during the 2025 Global Energy Interconnection Conference.
Held from 8 to 10 September under the theme “Global Energy Interconnection: Meeting Global Power Demand with Clean and Green Alternatives”, the conference was an avenue to share knowledge and expertise, foster international cooperation, and promote growth aimed at advancing the green and low-carbon energy transition, as well as deepening global energy and power cooperation.
The event, organized by the Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO) in Beijing, China, brought together high-level representatives from ministries, international organizations, enterprises and associations, financial institutions, universities, and research institutions from around the world.
