How can partnerships drive greater progress for persons with disabilities? This question was at the heart of a side event co-organized by ESCWA on 11 June during the 19th Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) in New York.
The event brought together representatives of governments, international organizations, disability rights advocates, and civil society to reflect on two decades of implementing the CRPD. Participants shared lessons from both successes and setbacks, highlighting the importance of strengthened collaboration to advance inclusion and rights for persons with disabilities.
The event was organized in collaboration with the European Commission, the Permanent Missions of Brazil and Malta to the United Nations, the Leprosy Mission International, and the Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disability of Malta.
