To track progress and enhance regional cooperation in the field of technology, the ESCWA Committee on Technology for Development held its fifth session on 26 and 27 February, in Jordan. The session aimed to follow up on the progress achieved in technology-related activities undertaken by Arab countries and the ESCWA secretariat since its previous session in 2022.
Discussions focused on key topics such as digital transformation in the Arab region, the maturity of digital government services, emerging technologies and innovation in government entities, digital inclusion, digital trust and cybersecurity, and the relationship between digital and environmental development.
Additionally, the Committee held a round table on accelerators for operationalizing the Arab Digital Agenda 2023-2033.
