An ESCWA delegation headed by Executive Secretary Rola Dashti took part in the Summit of the Future in New York and several side events. It also held bilateral meetings, discussing technical cooperation issues with ministers and leaders of ESCWA member States.
In a Summit plenary session, Dashti emphasized the challenging crises threatening our collective future. “This is also a moment to move beyond managing crises to shaping a future grounded in resilience and sustainability,” she stressed.
Addressing a Regional Commissions side event tackling equity across generations, Dashti urged for a skills revolution and the preparation for the jobs of tomorrow with strategic foresight. Also, at the 9th Ministerial Meeting of the Like-Minded Group for Middle-Income Countries, she reiterated the commitment of ESCWA in supporting these nations through tailored technical assistance, policy advice, and innovative financing solutions.
