On 11 and 12 November, ESCWA co-organized an inter-regional workshop titled “Impact and Systemic Change through SDG Localization”, in partnership with UN-Habitat, UNECA, ESCAP, UNDESA, and UCLG. The workshop brought together local leaders, national experts, and global partners from 12 countries to strengthen multilevel governance, enhance regional collaboration, and develop practical tools for action.
Participants engaged in solution-oriented dialogues, shared innovations, and strengthened regional capacities through training and peer learning. The workshop also featured the launch of the Voluntary Local Reviews (VLRs) for Greater Irbid and Ramallah Municipalities.
Jordan’s leadership in SDG localization and multilevel governance was showcased, providing a model for replication across regions.
