Executive Secretary On Official Visit to Egypt

          Beirut, 22 August 2017 (Communication and Information Unit) -- United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of ESCWA Mohamed Ali Al-Hakim today headed to Cairo on his first official visit to member countries after he took functions at the helm of ESCWA last May.

          Al Hakim, who is chairing a delegation comprising ESCWA Deputy Executive Secretary for Program Support Khawla Mattar; Secretary of the Commission Karim Khalil, Chief of Economic Governance & Planning, Ahmad Kamali; and Team Assistant Zalfa Hobballah, is scheduled to meet Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Hassan Shoukry, as well as a group of concerned ministers in order to discuss mutual cooperation between ESCWA and Egypt.

          During his visit Al Hakim will participate in the meetings of the Economic and Social Council of the League of Arab States (LAS), which will be held at the ministerial level.
