As part of its ongoing programme to support census operations across the Arab region, ESCWA provided technical support to the Department of Statistics of Jordan from 26 to 30 July in its statistical preparations and to strengthen coverage quality in population enumeration operations.
The support focused on using administrative records and geospatial data to validate the building and dwelling frame, developing operational procedures to identify and address omitted buildings and dwellings during fieldwork, and enhancing daily monitoring and early-warning mechanisms to ensure comprehensive enumeration.
ESCWA also addressed the enumeration of people living in collective living quarters, including student residences, workers’ accommodation and residential institutions, with particular attention to usual-residence and de jure enumeration rules to prevent omissions and duplication.
