From 11 to 13 May, ESCWA, in partnership with the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) and the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy in Kuwait, organized the Kuwait Sustainable Energy Week (KSEW2025). The event brought together policymakers and experts to discuss the latest developments in sustainable energy policies and energy efficiency.
ESCWA organized and participated in several key sessions, including one on the role of electricity interconnection and an integrated market in regional energy transition, and another on critical minerals for energy transition in Kuwait.
Other sessions explored the use of blockchain and other innovative technologies to scale up sustainable energy, as well as carbon management technologies and carbon markets. ESCWA also contributed to a session focused on climate resilience in the Mediterranean and the Gulf.
