In order to create standardized and transparent data to strengthen evidence-based policymaking, ESCWA and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), in cooperation with the Department of Statistics (DOS) and under the patronage of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation in Jordan (MOPIC), organized a national workshop titled “Measuring South–South Cooperation for the Achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals”.
Held in Amman on 16 and 17 November, the event brought together about 60 experts and focused on building stronger data systems to track and advance Jordan’s South–South partnerships.
Participants also engaged in practical sessions applying the “framework methodology”, developed by countries of the South themselves, to measure the diverse financial and non-financial modalities of South–South cooperation in Jordan, both as a provider and a recipient.
