At the 12th Roundtable on Financing Water held in Jeddah, ESCWA organized a side event on “Mobilizing Climate Finance for Water in the Arab Region” under the Arab Initiative for Mobilizing Climate Finance for Water.
The session, held on 16 April, explored climate finance flows to the water sector in the region, regional efforts to incorporate water into nationally determined contributions (NDCs) and climate-related commitments, as well as lessons learned from coordinating and preparing climate resilient water projects across sectors at both the national and regional levels.
The session was organized in partnership with the League of Arab States (LAS), the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and the Government of Sweden.
