As part of a series of workshops on "modernizing price data extraction with the Automatic Price Collection Tool (APCT)”, ESCWA organized two national capacity-building workshops in Iraq and Qatar to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of price data collection through automation and improved statistical processes.
In Baghdad, representatives from the Central Statistical Organization of Iraq participated in the workshop and were introduced to the core components of APCT. They received hands-on training in Python programming basics, along with modern applications for web‑based data extraction using Selenium.
In Doha, ESCWA conducted a workshop in response to a request from the National Statistical Office of Qatar. The training focused on strengthening technical capacities in automated price data collection. It aimed to rebuild and expand institutional knowledge by equipping new staff with the latest version of APCT.
