In the presence of Deputy ESCWA
Executive Secretary Nadim Khoury and a delegation of Rotary Club members, ESCWA
today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rotary Clubs-Lebanon. The
MoU, signed by David Iyamah, Director of ESCWA Administrative Services Division
on behalf of the Commission, and Samar Saab on behalf of Rotary clubs, concerns
the printing and distribution of the Regional Millennium Development Report
2011 at the level of high schools and concerned university students and academia,
as well as among research centres.
This step aims at making the report
accessible to this social category, and informing it of the major developments
and latest statistics on the achievement of MDGs in the region. To this end, an amendment in the original text
that ESCWA issued was required, in a way that meets the needs of students,
academia and researchers, and includes the latest developments in the region.
Once printed, the book shall be launched in an official ceremony held at
ESCWA, at a time that will be disclosed later.
