On the occasion of World Habitat Day, ESCWA, UN-Habitat, the Adaptation Fund, and the Ministry of Environment of Jordan held the first National Steering Committee meeting for the "Resilient water solutions against climate change in Jordan and Lebanon" project.
Participants discussed the project - funded by the Adaptation Fund and implemented by UN-Habitat, in cooperation with ESCWA and executing partners in the targeted countries – which offers a series of adaptation measures to respond to the needs of communities and attenuate water challenges related to climate change.
During the meeting, two memoranda of understanding were signed with Government and academic entities to support the implementation of urban observatories.
