As part of its ongoing support for population and housing censuses in the Arab region, and in continuation of its collaboration with the Department of Statistics in Jordan, ESCWA organized a virtual national workshop titled “Population and Housing Censuses: Use of Administrative Records and Rapid Counting Methodology”.
The workshop was held on 11 and 13 November and focused on enhancing Jordan’s readiness to conduct the 2025 census. It included discussions on the progress made in developing and using administrative records, the presentation of regional experiences, and the identification of technical needs and priority capacity-building areas.
The workshop is part of a broader technical support programme provided by ESCWA to Jordan, with the aim of modernizing census processes, strengthening the integration of administrative records, and promoting the use of innovative technologies to improve data quality, efficiency, and national statistical reporting.
