From 12 to 16 October, ESCWA, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Solidarity in Egypt and the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development, organized a peer-exchange study tour on the “Bab Amal” programme in Upper Egypt. The programme enables social assistance beneficiaries to graduate from extreme poverty through productive asset transfers, training, and financial inclusion.
Delegations participated in knowledge-sharing sessions, field visits, and discussions on adapting the model to their national contexts, strengthening regional cooperation, and expanding innovative solutions to reduce poverty.
Building on these efforts, ESCWA also organized the Josour Partners Forum in Manama, in partnership with the Regional Network for Social Responsibility. Held on 29 and 30 October, the Forum announced 10 new partnerships with Gulf-based institutions and presented upcoming activities. A youth exhibition allowed Bahraini university students to learn about Josour, its partners, and opportunities in employment and entrepreneurship.
