Syrian delegation in Jordan to explore social protection systems

In August, ESCWA facilitated a five-day study visit to Jordan for a Syrian delegation seeking to strengthen the country’s social protection systems.

The delegation, comprising officials from National Social Aid Fund for Syria (NASF) and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour, met with counterparts from Jordan’s National Aid Fund and the Ministry of Social Development to learn from their experience in designing and implementing social protection programmes.

During technical sessions and field visits, Syrian representatives explored key aspects of Jordan’s social assistance framework, including governance structures, beneficiary targeting, social registries, data management systems, financing mechanisms, and service delivery models. They also observed operations at local National Aid Fund offices, gaining first-hand insights into registration procedures, case management, and citizen engagement.
