On 24 July, ESCWA and UNICEF Morocco organized an inception workshop to launch the development of a report on the social protection landscape tackling a comprehensive national review of the system and its reforms in Morocco.
The report aims to provide relevant stakeholders with practical guidance to support wide-ranging reforms that adapt social protection systems to evolving social, economic, and demographic conditions. Those reforms are intended to achieve multiple objectives, particularly the expansion of effective coverage to include the most vulnerable groups and the enhancement of the overall efficiency of social protection systems.
Discussions during the workshop helped clarify the roles of stakeholders and resulted in a detailed workplan and timeline for the review process.
