From 22 to 26 August, ESCWA and the Yemeni Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation organized a workshop in Cairo, Egypt, on Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) modelling for Yemen.
Officials from the Ministry and various departments concerned were trained to master the tool used in economic simulations. They learned how to build and implement an equilibrium model to measure the effects of economic policies and benefit from the ESCWA model in the field of economic modeling.
The workshop is part of a project aimed at building member States capacities in devising their own CGE models for better economic planning and policymaking.
