Integrated Budget Intelligence Toolkit (iBIT)

December 2025

The Integrated Budget Intelligence Toolkit (iBIT) is an AI-enabled digital toolkit that supports Governments in expanding fiscal space and improving budget effectiveness by strengthening public spending efficiency and enhancing the development impact of public resources. It facilitates evidence-based policymaking through a suite of applications designed to optimize the use of public resources, enhance social targeting, improve public procurement, guide development outcomes, and prioritize growth-enhancing public investment.

Pilot applications across the Arab region indicate that improved spending efficiency and stronger budget credibility can unlock substantial fiscal space, potentially up to $150 billion annually, without increasing debt or taxation. The toolkit has been featured in the global Financing for Sustainable Development Report and recognized by the United Nations Chief Economists as an international standard for enhancing budget effectiveness and expanding fiscal space. It has also been included in the leading international BRIDGES initiative endorsed by the Seville Platform for Action.
