ESCWA, in cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism’s Competition Department, is hosting a workshop to train judges and public prosecutors on Federal Decree-Law No. 36 of 2023 concerning competition regulation. The program aims to enhance participants' understanding of the law and develop their ability to adjudicate competition cases.
The six-session workshop covers legal and economic perspectives, case studies, and comparative examples from the EU, Saudi Arabia, and others. It integrates economic analysis into judicial reasoning to support evidence-based decisions and consumer welfare protection.
Each session balances theory with practical applications, equipping attendees with both conceptual understanding and analytical skills for handling complex competition disputes.
