The event launches the second phase of the Arab Initiative for Mobilizing Climate Finance for Water and its Arab Climate Finance for Water Regional Coordination Platform. The platform connects governments, financial institutions, donors, and regional and international organizations to strengthen coordination and improve access to climate finance for water.
Launched at the 2023 UN Water Conference, the initiative identifies financing gaps through research and supports countries through capacity-building. It addresses the Arab region’s severe water scarcity as climate change increases pressure on limited resources and climate finance for water remains inadequate.
