The Committee discusses in its third session emerging challenges and reforms of the financing architecture, and the state of financing sustainable development in the Arab region. It prioritizes key issues and articulates the essential financial actions to mobilize investments across various sectors to advance national development goals. It aims to forge an Arab Financing for Development Framework ahead of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development in 2025.
As part of its proceedings, the Committee hosts a regional workshop to showcase and promote the evidence-based financing tools and artificial intelligence powered budgeting toolkits developed by ESCWA. Those integral components are of global guidance on INFFs and aim to maximize SDG outcomes through enhancing budget credibility, expanding fiscal space, optimizing resource mobilization and rationalizing budget spending”.
